Mr. Smith entered in the class with
handouts in hand and motivated by saying that he can see the epidemic of the
child in front, further said that he can even see or feel the epidemics of
himself as well but the student didn’t understand, he then rephrase his
statement and said he can see the topmost layer of their body, this encourages
students of grade vii to begin with their own thoughts and put some share of it
and replied that clothes, uniform, face. Mr Smith an enthusiastic science
teacher of grade vii. After nodding head in affirm, explained and ask to try to
guess the topmost layer of our body instead of outfits. The students respond
together SKIN.
The Facilitator defines that the epidemic
as “skin” and explained that as our heart and lungs, the skin is an organ.
It is the most important and
fastest-growing organ we've and it doesn’t grow as a result of we tend to get
taller; it's perpetually making new skin cells.
Now for reaching to the introductory part
of the session “The Facilitator disclosed that today they are going to talk
about the basic functions and structure of the skin because
most people don’t perceive the importance
of skin and every one the various things it will.
He rephrased that the skin is an organ.
Just like our heart and lungs, it performs specific functions.”
For the developmental phase, Mr Smith
passes out a handout which bought with him and asks to spend some time to read
and view the printed image of the skin.
After reading, the facilitator explained
and demonstrated about the layers of skin that there are three layers of our
skin. Pointing on the image of handout provided. They are called epidermis,
dermis, and subcutaneous fat. Mr Smith calls out the word repeatedly and asked
students to do the same in order to get familiar with its correct
pronunciation.
The facilitator explains that each layer
has a special function. The facilitator asks the student to volunteers to read
out different parts of the handout. Throughout the reading, he stopped to see
if students understand the material and rephrase where necessary.
Mr Smith told than his students that one
of his friends is dermatologist, and he invited him to talk and resolve some of
their queries about skin. When he entered, introduced himself and shared the
certificates of his degrees and hurdles faced in achieving them. During his
questioning and answering session, he spoke four different types of skin, that
are named as Normal, Dry, Oily, and combination. One has to pass through with a
certain type of tests to identify the type of skin type he/she owns. The types
of skin are normally genetic in nature. He further stated that almost all skin
needs care, suitable atmosphere and balance diet. Oily, Dry and Combination
skin needs special care. Such skin like for Dry, can study as Dry, Very Dry
Extremely Dry. It is the skin type that produces less sebum which leads to lack
of lipids and causes loss of moistures. Therefore it can feel tight, rough and
dull. The dermatologist prescribed the skin moisturizer that keeps the skin moisture.
The Wowo Pakistan is the brand provides
organic skin moisturizer for such skin type. On the contrary, the oily skin
that produces heightened sebum which leads to an excess of lipids and causes
more moisture. It can be characterized by enlarged and visible pores. People of
these type of skin often complain about acne that often appears in the T-zone,
especially during puberty. They too need to control the excessive growth of
sebum by organic skin product s.
With this fruitful discussion, the
session was over with the promise of more sessions, because but students were
involved and was asking more questions concerning about their own skin.
